M-OBC

M-OBC is a high performance and flexible processing module mainly designed for cubesats and nano-satellites.
Beside the processing core, the M-OBC unit offers also a wide range of AOCS interfaces and is highly configurable for custom applications and interfaces.

COMODO is a range of Computer On Modules based on different System On Chip:

Myr OBC

STEEL Electronique has designed and manufactured the on-board computer (OBC) of all microsatellites Myriade platforms and payload computers based on a modular architecture.
At date more than 25 flight units of Platform computers (OBC) or Payload computers (EGCU or ICU) have been produced and delivered to CNES, ADS and TAS customers.
Standard OBC provides following functions :

ICU

ICUs are Payload / Instrument Control Units based on a modular architecture. As ICU is a specific Unit controlling a custom instrument, the electronics could be composed of standard off-the-shelf modules (heritage boards) and new custom hardware to be developed.
ICUs are composed of following functions/boards :

  • Processor module
  • Digital processing (generally based on FPGA for high speed data handling)
  • Analog acquisition (eg. temperature for active thermal control or monitoring, current, voltage,…)
  • communication interface (1553, SpW, CAN, UART, SerDes,…)

DREAM

The DREAM (Détecteur Radiation Energétique Adaptable et Miniaturisé) instrument is based on silicon diode detectors and has been co-designed between STEEL Electronique and N7 Consulting with CNES support. The instrument is able to measure protons energy between 13 MeV and 200 MeV, and electrons from 350 keV to 3 MeV.

Cryocooler Electronics (CCE)

The CCE is the electronics unit used to drive and control a cryogenic cooler in order to maintain a detector at a cryogenic temperature. The CCE is able to drive compact pulse-tube cryocoolers for space applications at temperatures of 50K and above (eg. LPT6510 cooler from Thales Cryogenics, NL)
